Fiona Cross
Mrs Fiona Cross BA PGCE DipSpLD LTCL
I am an enthusiastic teacher with over 20 years of experience across a range of primary, nursery, preparatory and special needs schools.
For 5 years I ran a small independent school for children with a range of difficulties including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and complex medical needs.
I gained the Hornsby Diploma in teaching dyslexic pupils (DipSpLD) in 2005 and have been working as a specialist one-to-one literacy tutor since 2007.
I love teaching children who are lacking in confidence or facing difficulties at school. My aim is to bring the joy back into their learning. I use a variety of multi-sensory techniques, games and activities to build up the skills and confidence they need to thrive and progress.
I also hold the LTCL in Music Education and teach both piano and cello. I am sensitive towards the difficulties faced by some dyslexic and dyspraxic pupils learning a musical instrument.
